Just hours after attempting to shift blame to Buckingham Palace, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has doubled down on absolving himself of blame in the current Victorian aged care disaster.
Talking on 2GB talkback rado this afternoon, Morrison addressed the concerns that he has completely side stepped his Federal responsibilities to the nation’s elderly, who are currently dying by the dozen due to COVID-19 outbreaks in nursing homes.
“I’ve just been a bit caught up prematurely announcing the roll-out of vaccines that haven’t been invented yet”
“So, yes, I am sorry that I haven’t been around much to address this issue, but I’ve been busy with that.”
‘I know Australians will understand this, and they’ll be pleased I’m coming back… but they know that, you know, I don’t hold a bed pan mate.’
His latest controversial remarks come after Victoria records yet another 240 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths.
The daily death tally has been over a dozen for close to a fortnight now, with most occuring within the Victorian aged care system, which is a Federal responsiblity, unlike bushfires, which were easier to blame on Daniel Andrews and Gladys Berejiklian.
“Look, I understand Australians wish I was down there fixing these issues, or at least addressing them… But let’s not terrify our children with needless anxiety”
“Anyway, guess what?”
“Only six weeks to go until cricket starts up again!”
“Come on Aussie, come one! haha”
