After gloating to other parents in the Betoota Private Sport System (BPSS) of his son’s academic scholarship to Scatts College, Tony Whitelaw has revealed today that while he’s proud of his son going to the private school, the kid hasn’t quite shown enough talent to warrant adding a Scatts College sticker to the back of his Range Rover.
Tony’s son, Tim, is currently a hooker in the school’s third grade rugby team, but as Tony tells The Advocate, it’s just not good enough.
“You can’t gloat about a kid who’s in third grade”
“He might as well not play football. At least then I could say he could have talent, but we just don’t know.”
Tony, a Scatts old boy, goes on to tell our reporter how back in the day he was in the firsts – and probably could have been anything but chose to get serious about his career instead.
When asked how he feels about his dad not putting a Scatts sticker on the back of his car, Tim didn’t really seem too fussed.
“It’s pretty embarrassing tbh [sic]”
“He’d only want to put it on there to peacock to other Scatts parents, or to park next to Cronebrake parents and try to belittle them”
“It’s an ego thing for dad.”
It’s believed Tony’s ego is about to take an even bigger hit, with Tim revealing to The Advocate that he probably wouldn’t get an ATAR over 90 because he’s more into the grog now.
