In great news for Labor right loyalists, it appears that disgraced former Senator and PRC mouthpiece Sam Dastyari has finally landed on his feet after his spectacular fall from grace late last year.
The Betoota Advocate can exclusively reveal that the young Labor prodigy who once turned heads with his lightening speed ascension through the ALP ranks, is now spruiking Great Wall’s down on Parramatta Road in Outer Western Sydney.
After receiving a tip-off, our reporters headed down the arterial motorway of the developer’s paradise and were able to confirm that Dasher is now working as a used car sales rep.
Dastyari greeted our reporters with; “Zǎo, hǎo jiǔ bú jiàn,” (which roughly translates to ‘Morning, long time no see’ in Mandarin) in an obvious slip, before asking us why we were in town.
“You guys interested in a real vehicle” he said, while leaning against a used 2014 Great Wall V240 and slapping the bonnet.
Our reporters told him that they weren’t really interested in a ute at the moment and if they were they would probably not be interested in a Great Wall.
“Seriously? They are great value for money guys. Bit like I was [haha]” he said.
“Really good quality cars that are effectively the same as your Holdens and your Fords, but far cheaper. I can do you a solid on financing it too if you want?”
Our reporters asked Dastyari why he was working as a used car salesman.
“People is what I’m good at you know. I could sell ice to the inuit’s. And, given all the stuff that’s happened over the last year or so I’m just trying to keep a low profile,” he said.
“How bout this 2017 Great Wall Steed? Only got 20,000 on the clock? I’m pretty much forfeiting my margin here, we’ve just gotta get rid of it!”
“With new and improved asbestos-free brake prads”
Our reporters, still reeling from last night’s disgraceful penalty try, politely declined again his offer and got the hell out of Sydney.
