A growing number of senior Democrats – including Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Steny Hoyer – are reportedly ‘sweating’ today, as they wait on the result of a critical opinion poll regarding the party’s replacement presidential candidate for the November election.

Following President Joe Biden’s abrupt departure from the the 2024 race, droves of senior Democrats have quickly backed Vice President Kamala Harris to run as the party’s presidential nominee against Donald Trump, but some powerful party members, including the former House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have stayed quiet.

After weeks of fighting among Democrats on whether Biden, 81, should stay in the race, it is crucial that the entire party’s heavyweights rush to lend their united support behind whoever ends up receiving the nomination, that’s if they want to turn the tide of public opinion over the next 100 days before the election.

However, it seems there is a paralysis within the party about saying or doing anything until they get the results from today’s Daily Telegraph Facebook Poll.

Viewed as the almighty arbiter of international political analysis, the Daily Telegraph is a Murdoch-owned newspaper based out of the NSW capital of Sydney.

It’s readers are known as having a penchant for horse-racing form guides, ram-raid robberies in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, and razor-sharp political punditry when it comes to the ever-changing political landscape of Washington D.C

It’s for this reason, that the US Democrats cannot possibly cement Kamala Harris as their official pick for the 2024 US Election, not until they’ve crunched the numbers from today’s Daily Telegraph Facebook poll asking “SHOULD KAMALA HARRIS BE THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE?”.

The poll asks readers to respond with ‘👍’ for YES and ‘😲’ for NO. Currently the result is neck and neck as more votes come through by the minute.

While thousands of international pollsters are also currently surveying this very question, there is no greater authority than the mostly rugby league-oriented columnists and reactionary readers of Sydney’s most circulated Newscorp rag.

While the results are yet to be officially counted, comments are rolling through thick and fast from the respondents.

“Who the hell that” said one reader, Bernice from Birkenhood.

“I thought that Obama’s wife?” asked another, Craig from Engadine.

“Sure why not America is fukt lol” said Keegs from Artarmon.
