Leader of the Opposition, Bill Shorten, has today proven that despite a 30-year-career of political bureaucracy and media training, he is in fact just like the rest of us.
After wrapping up a press conference / heavily documented conversation with local workers, the Labor Party leader decided to do what it is that all working class humans that reside on the Australian continent do in the later hours of the work day.
“Hello non-unionised barkeep, may I please purchase some brewed cereal grains to drink out of one of the mid-sized glass containers sitting in front of you”
“I would prefer the 425ml sized glass containers, as opposed to the larger 568ml sized glasses that that are most common in Victoria and south eastern South Australia”
Bill Shorten, is talking about beer. A commonly accepted alcoholic beverage enjoyed by many Australians from all economic classes and ethnic backgrounds.
Beer is brewed from cereal grains—most commonly from malted barley, though wheat, maize (corn), and rice are also used. During the brewing process, fermentation of the starch sugars in the wort produces ethanol and carbonation in the resulting beer.
“Mmm that tastes as good as the emotions on the accompanying bearded males in high-visibility personal protection wear suggested it would” said Shorten.
“I am glad I chose to accept the invitation to indulge in the vastly common Australian cultural practice that was offered to me by these unskilled workmen”
