An environmentally conscious man who has made the decision to minimise his carbon foot print by joining the frontline of the EV transition, has today made it clear that he doesn’t really think that the future of human civilisation depends on Donald Trump getting re-elected in 2024.
“Don’t get me wrong” says local Tesla owner, Jim (46, Betoota Grove).
“I love my car”
“I just don’t think that by simply owning a Tesla I should be lumped in with old mate”
Jim is of course talking about Elon Musk, the multibillionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceLink who has spent the last couple of months broadcasting his every thought through the rapidly devaluing social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter – which he also owns.
The fact that X has become a sewer for videos of a fatal worksite accidents and race-baiting misinformation now means that anyone who drives a Tesla is often tarred with the same brush as the online conspiracists and Russian bots that champion Musk’s dangerous online rhetoric.
But Jim isn’t one of those guys. He just thinks the Tesla is a good car, and as an upper-middle-class professional, he’s got the cash to buy one.
“That doesn’t mean I think we are on the brink of civil war” says Jim, doing his best to distance himself from the spiralling South African billionaire.
“I certainly don’t think we NEED a civil war”
Jim also doesn’t lose too much sleep over the conspiracies that George Soros is funding the rise of leftist wokeism in American universities to create a catastrophic population decline within Western Society.
He just likes not having to fuck around with petrol stations and dodgy mechanics.
“It’s a great car” he says.
“Bloody good car. I’ll defend my purchase til the cows come home”
“But yeah, not a big fan of old mate”
“Not my cup of tea”
