Reality TV watchers across the nation were characteristically shocked as new reality show The Masked Singer dropped it’s most economically-conservative twist yet.
After what was clearly a heartfelt rendition of “I’m sorry I can’t be perfect” by Canadian noughties punk-pop band Simple Plan, contestant ‘The Penfolds’ was decided by the audience to be the one to publicly unmask or however it is the show works.
Although the audience and judges were fed clues as to who may be the angsty voice behind The Penfolds, all parties were shocked by the reveal that the singer was former Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull.
“The clue that really threw me was ‘people used to like me,'” stated judge Dave Hughes.
“Did they?”
Pre-reveal, there was hardly a dry eye in the audience as Turnbull paid tribute to the forgone ballad of a life of broken promises to yourself and those around you/in your electorate.
“There has never been a more exciting time to be a Masked Singer viewer,” stated the former PM as he took off his mask.
The shows judges state that with time they were able to explain to judge Lindsey Lohan who Turnbull was and how it is possible to be Prime Minister for only three years in Australia.
Rumours are now circulating former PM Uncle Tony X may be the voice behind The masked Onion after a rousing performance of Treaty by Yothu Yindi.
