Australia has changed, and not for the better. That’s according to semi-retired 66-year-old Marcus Grisham who’s entire life is now spent comparing modern Australia to the misplaced nostalgia he holds for his young adulthood.
The former owner of a prominent medical equipment manufacturing business from Betoota Heights says Australia is slowly losing it’s once iconic ‘larrikin’ charm.
“Back in my day, everyone was entitled to a fair go and didn’t have to worry about being taxed to death by these bludging politicians”
“Whatever happened to free speech?”
Marcus says after seeing several conservative commentator of around his age get held to account for saying racist and sexist shit on talkback radio and Sky News, he now knows that the entitled left are winning their battle against free-thinking Aussies.
“We used to be all about a fair go” says the wealth-hoarding retiree who only votes for politicians who can guarantee that property prices will continue skyrocketing unsustainably.
While many may draw a direct correlation between Mr Grisham’s irrational fear of losing the freedom of speech, and his abundance of wealth and spare time – the multi-property owner says it’s more about him opening his eyes to see what the unelected and powerless left wing politicians and activists are doing to this country.
“We used to be a relaxed country of larrikins” he says, aggressively shaking his head, in direct contrast to the 16 phone calls he made to the police on Saturday night because he didn’t like hearing the light thuds of a house party down the street.
“We are turning into a nanny state of wowsers”
