A local Gold Coast man has reportedly signed a deal with the Diesel Devil this afternoon, after making an enquiry into pre-ordering the new Ford F-150.

After 12 years of working FIFO in Blackwater, Coomera-based excavator operator Jayden Carney (34) has decided he’s still got a thirst for another year on the big money ferris wheel in order to pay for his supersized lifestyle.

The proud owner of a 6 bedroom home on the Gold Coast complete with a home cinema and two Jetskis, Jayden’s one of the lucky Australians who’s had the pleasure of pissing a $200,00k salary up the wall over the past decade.

An ex-highschool PE teacher, who made the transition to FIFO work during the early 2010’s for the promise of big cash and even bigger engines, Jayden admitted to The Advocate that he too wasn’t immune to the current financial pinch barking at the door of most Australians.

“12 years working FIFO is quite a stint, and every time the tax man comes for me I always say it’ll be my last year in high-vis.”

“But with the cost of living going through the roof, I just don’t know I can afford to go back to the 9-to-5.”

“Especially if it’s going to cost me $200 to fill up my new F-150 every time I take it for a drive down to Pacific Fair.”

Asked whether he’d considered selling off one of the three vehicles taking up room in his triple garage, Jayden argued that the appreciating value of his new twin-turbocharged pick-up truck would make the investment worth while in the long run.

“Have you seen the market for second-hand cars at the moment, you’d have to be crazy to sell off your assets?”

“No I’ll be holding onto this F-150 for a very long while, it’ll probably be a collectors item in 2045 when everyone’s finally transitioned to electric!”.
