PARTY ROCK: In a turn of events that has local partygoers buzzing, what began as a casual backyard barbecue has officially transformed into a full-blown gatho, thanks to the host’s decision to whip out a Bluetooth speaker and a never-ending supply of corn chips.
“Once the speaker came out, you knew it was on,” said Jamie Holloway, a guest at the party. “Nothing says ‘let’s get this party started’ like blasting some Y2k club bangers while you’re trying to enjoy your snag!”
As the first notes of “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO filled the air, the atmosphere shifted dramatically into a feral state of fist pumps and one-durry-one-drags.
But the real game-changer was the mountain of corn chips that soon appeared on the table. “Corn chips are the ultimate gatho starter,” said host Steve Lawson. “You can’t go wrong with a giant bowl of chips—raw-dogged with no salsa dip. Takes me straight back to my youth!”
Guests took turns taking selfies, striking poses next to the speaker, and declaring their newfound love for cottonmouth corn chips.
As the sun set and the playlists cycled through the autotuned hits, it was clear: this barbecue was no longer just a civilised gathering—thanks to the Bluetooth speaker and endless corn chips, the gatho had officially taken over.
More to come.
