In tech news, American audio giant Bose has released an exciting new product today, a pair of noise cancelling headphones that can block out the sound of Americans.
Famous for their suite of quality earbuds and over-ear headphones, the company has announced that their latest release, the QuietComfort 55, will be so powerful they’ll turn the ear-splitting squawks of any American tourist into a barely audible whisper.
The QuietComfort series have long been favoured by frequent flyers and those who battle a long commute, and the company has said that the new model has been designed to reflect the realities of a post-pandemic world.
“We’re aware that since the world has opened up, more and more countries are experiencing an influx of American tourists who have decided to finally get a passport and see another part of the world that isn’t Hawaii,” said Arnold Hayder, the Chief Product Officer at Bose.
“We know that Americans are being heard in public spaces as far as Tokyo, Dubai and even pockets of Brisbane, so these headphones are a gift to anyone that’s looking to go about their day without fear of bursting an eardrum thanks to a tourist from New York.”
To gauge the appetite for the release of the new headphones, The Advocate spoke to Gerry Lee (24), a casual sales assistant at Harvey Norman who flogs headphones and at-home theatre systems every weekend.
“Boomers with cash will come in all the time, they’ll happily drop $400 on a pair of earmuffs if you can sell them on the things they can block from entering their ears,” admitted Gerry.
“We’ve been told this new Bose gear can mask Yankee tourists, Sunday morning leaf blowers, music from local pubs and clubs and even the sound of whining millennials who are unable to get a toe into the housing market.”
“Any customer over 50 will happily fork out for them on that selling point alone!”
More to come.
