A local Dad is setting his kids up for success this morning, after pulling together some quick-fire school lunches.

The Advocate understands local father of two, Dave Andrews (38) was spotted today making a rushed pitstop into the North Betoota Bakehouse, during the peak hour rush to school.

Whilst leaving his two children Tiffany (8) and Sam (10) sitting in his idle car, Dave was seen legging it into the popular bakery with a crisp $20 note, and returning soon after carrying several white paper bags steaming with baked goodies.

“It’s my turn to get the kids dressed, fed, and at the school gates by 8:45pm.”

“Of course, I feel like the teachers might sound alarm bells if the kids arrive with a slice of leftover pizza each, so I often dip into the bakery and get them sorted.”

The children of a carb-conscious mother who has meticulously curated their lunchboxes since kindergarten, Dave’s kids told our reporter that they gladly welcomed the switch from sliced carrot sticks and hummus, to rocking up to school with two sausage rolls and a Vanilla slice.

“Mum’s really into Pinterest, so she’s always trying to teach us the different types of triangles by the way she cuts our sandwiches,” said oldest child Sam.

“But to be honest, no matter how you slice a cucumber and ham sambo it tastes like shit, so we love when it’s Dad’s turn to fill up our lunch boxes!”

“Sometimes he even forgets to grab our filtered drink bottles from the fridge and he has send us to school with a 1.25L of Kirks Pasito, it’s the dream!”

More to come.
