A Betoota Ponds Marketing Director has been touted as a bit of a hero to introverted anxious employees everywhere, for taking the time to assure a ‘small chat’ had absolutely nothing to do with firing.
It’s alleged the thoughtful boss had simply wanted to ask if his employee was doing okay, whilst also having the emotional intelligence to predict that she would automatically assume the worst.
The Advocate speaks to the employee Chloe Mirren, to learn more.
“My boss came over and asked me to come into the office for a little chat”, she explains, “which obviously to me means I’m being fired.”
“All you need to do is take one look at my nails to figure out I’m chronically anxious.”
“But then he immediately reassured me the chat was ‘good’ and that I wasn’t being given the sack.”
Our reporter asks Chloe why she thinks she would be fired. She doesn’t know.
“Um…actually…I don’t think I’ve done anything bad?”
“I just constantly think everyone thinks I’m the worst and hates my guts. I’ve even had to train my boyfriend to stop using full stops in his text messages to me.”
“Or the psychopath smiley emoji.”
“I read into absolutely everything, it’s very exhausting.”
More to come.
