In a feat of willpower that would make ultra-marathoner Nedd Brockmann proud, local man Sam Henderson (31) managed to avoid the temptation of his favorite kebab shop after a heavy night of drinking.
The small corner takeaway, known for luring in countless drunk customers, was almost too much for Sam to resist.
But on this particular night, he was determined to be stronger.
“I kept thinking, ‘What would Nedd Brockmann do?’” Sam recalled, still slightly tipsy.
Eyewitnesses described his struggle as an act of true inspiration.
“He had this laser focus,” said one observer.
“Every time he slowed near the shop, he gave himself a pep talk, like he was running a marathon.”
“It was oddly moving.” said another.
The smell of sizzling meat and garlic sauce tested him to his core.
At one point, Sam stood frozen in front of the shop, staring through the window in despair.
But, summoning every ounce of his Nedd-like determination, he shook his head and pressed on.
“I could already feel the shame and indigestion,” Sam admitted.
“And it’s never as good as you think it’ll be. You just end up covered in garlic sauce.”
However, he did allow himself a small victory snack.
Stopping at a nearby 7-Eleven, Sam opted for a “responsible choice”—a chicken sandwich and a Powerade.
“Nedd would hydrate after a run, so I thought I’d follow suit,” Sam reasoned.
When he finally collapsed into bed, he felt a deep sense of pride.
He hadn’t just avoided a kebab; he’d achieved personal growth.
“Thanks Nedd” Sam declared as he drifted off.
