Junior to mid-level employees looked on in disbelief today after witnessing their CEO, Tim Whitely, be told by his Executive Assistant to go to his office and not come out until he was in a good mood.
This power dynamic came as quite the surprise to the office bottom feeders as many of them have been on the receiving end of Tim’s candour and would never, ever dream of confronting him about it.
Whitely is CEO of Betoota’s biggest consultancy firm, Bells & End, and our reporter has been told that his disapproving stare once caused a dolphin in an aquarium to forget to breathe and ultimately die.
Speaking to one employee who wished to remain anonymous, The Advocate understands that this isn’t the first time their CEO has allowed his EA to treat him like a child.
“I once heard her say he was only allowed to have one sugar in his tea because otherwise his tummy will get upset.”
While this might seem like an unconventional way to treat a CEO, perhaps when a job is highly stressful and every bit of mental capacity is taken up with important business decisions, an office mother half your age is the only way to cope.
The Advocate reached out to Whitely for comment, however, his EA said that she sent him to the contemplation chair and he was not allowed to return to his desk for another 5 minutes.
