The suburban streets of Betoota are being treated to a symphony of nu-metal classics today as a local whitegoods installer goes about his roster of deliveries.
Driving a Hino 500 series truck packed with washing machines, fridges and new dishwashers from the West Betoota Harvey Norman, Brian Davis (35) has spent the morning blasting KoRn’s ‘Follow The Leader’ album as he drives around town.
An aging nu-metal fan who plays the bass in local band “Cameltosis”, Brian says he’s having a great week thanks to the news that Californian nu-metal group KoRn are coming down under for a string of shows in December.
“It’s been a while since I launched myself into a death pit, it’s not really something you do so much since becoming a father of three,” Brian tells the Advocate.
“But I’ve already got the leave booked to go to Brisbane, the rest of my band will be coming with me.”
Arriving on our shores as part of the Good Things Festival, KoRn will be playing alongside Mastodon and Slayer’s ‘Kerry King’, plus the Temu version of Blink 182, Sum 41.
And whilst most music festivals across Australia can’t seem to stay upright for more than two weeks after announcing their lineup, it’s expected loyal metal and alternative music fans across the nation will be investing in tickets plus some new leather boots, before attending the festivals in the peak of Summer.
“I can’t wait to command a wall of 100 sweaty, hairy, bearded degenerates to run full tilt at each other right after they blow out into the chorus of “Freak On A Leash”.
“This will be my Era’s tour, and unlike those Swifties I’m willing to dislocate a shoulder over it.”
