A local woman has fully embraced the fate that awaits her as she heads out clubbing with her gay best friends, knowing the night will be fabulous, for a bit, —but will ultimately end in solitude.

Sophia Sharma (24) said she’d been “summoned” on a night out by her gaggle of gays, an invitation she enthusiastically accepted, despite knowing exactly what would unfold.

Pre-drinks at her apartment set the tone, with a playlist of Britney and Gaga blaring as the group downed vodka sodas and hyped themselves up for the night ahead. “We start strong,” Sophia explained. “Then, the moment we step into the club, it’s like clockwork.”

“I know I have 30 minutes tops with them at the club, before they lock eyes with some handsome stranger,” she laughed.

“I know the signs well,” Sophia declared. “They start strategically unbuttoning shirts, making out with someone they met three minutes ago, or mysteriously disappearing into the bathroom only to re-emerge inexplicably energised.”

“That’s my cue to check the Uber price home,” she added.

Despite the inevitable ghosting, Sophia insists she doesn’t mind. “Honestly, it’s worth it just to watch them live their best lives,” she said. “I spring into action, get my kebab, and Uber home for a relatively early night.”

Her conclusion? “It’s not the worst. I’m in bed, asleep, before 2 a.m.”
