An elderly couple have today agreed to add another loud ticking clock to their living room, having decided that having a grandfather clock, quartz clock and a water clock just wasn’t enough, and that they could really do with another reminder that time is passing them by.

With a total of twelve clocks in their oversized four bedroom bungalow (including two in their room, three in the study, three in the kitchen and now four in the living room), it’s safe to say that Maeve, 72, and Paul, 75, have no idea how to decorate.

Nor can they hear properly, if the deafening sounds of mismatched ticking is anything to go by.

And to make matters worse, only half the clocks appear to be the same time – with the others ranging from fifteen minutes too early to twenty minutes too late.

“Well, how else do you tie a room together?”. queries Maeve, in a bewildering defense of her decorating choices.

Clearly unfamiliar with the concept of artwork, she insists that the multitude of clocks somehow adds character to their living space.

More to come.
