An internationally acclaimed comedian has flown half way across the world to retell his most watched YouTube jokes live on stage, it has been reported.
The Advocate understands a packed house at the Afghan Theatre in Betoota’s French Quarter was last night treated to 65 minutes of comedic genius, as Netflix superstar Jerry Jervais (52) brought his much beloved stand-up routine to town.
Audiences members who paid up to $125 (plus $14 booking fees) for a ticket were reportedly amazed by the actor/comedian/documentary makers comedic breadth, as Jerry rolled out his greatest hits, which are often also recycled at the Queens Jubilee broadcast.
“Hahahahahaha, he was so funny,” said Betoota Heights resident and long time fan, Dane Browning.
“I usually watch highlights of Jerry on my phone whenever I’m taking a dump a work, but it was so good to see them live and in person.”
“He told them just like he does on YouTube!”
A career comedian by trade, it’s understood the King of British game show comedy is excited to be down under and is looking forward to his wall to wall schedule of Australian media engagements to promote his new show, “Unchartered”.
Speaking to the comedian’s publicist, Samantha Abernethy, it’s believed phone lines have been running hot as Australia’s morning TV shows attempt to book the popular comedian to add some light hearted musings to the daily weather report.
“We’ve booked Jerry to appear on all the big shows like The Project, Sunrise and whatever those Channel 10 people do for breakfast.”
“We even got contacted by that “Are You Paying Attention?” show on the public broadcaster, but when they offered a Doctor Who DVD and half a banana muffin as payment we told them to take a hike.
“We didn’t travel Jerry down her for charity, flying him on a private jet to Bendigo to do two shows at the Ulumbarra Theatre isn’t cheap you know!”
