Betoota Heights witnessed an unexpected showdown last night when a local insurance firm’s Friday night drinks turned karaoke became highly competitive. The evening started off fun, with Karyn from HR belting out P!nk’s “So What” to kick things off, followed by a few finance blokes crooning along to “Khe Sanh.”

The atmosphere was lighthearted until Robbie from Marketing—an unapologetic Leo with a flair for drama took the mic. With the opening chords of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” setting the stage, Robbie launched into Bradley’s verse with an intensity that left everyone in the room captivated. His dramatic delivery hinted at a hidden penchant for the spotlight, but the night was just getting started.

Noticing Robbie’s surprising vocal talent, Stella from Internal Comms—a self-proclaimed mezzo-soprano and fellow fire sign—stepped up to challenge him. The Aries launched into Lady Gaga’s verse with even more intensity, turning what was supposed to be casual karaoke into a full-blown diva duel.

Unwilling to be outdone, Robbie fired back with a louder, more theatrical rendition of the next verse and entered the falsetto register.

As the duet continued, Robbie and Stella went head-to-head, each trying to outshine the other with soaring notes and dramatic key changes. Colleagues report feeling taken aback by the unexpected rivalry.

Later, the two couldn’t agree on the next song—Stella pushed for Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” while Robbie demanded Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”

It is unknown what song was selected.
