A Betoota man who doesn’t own a bed base is patting himself on the back this morning, after finally putting his favourite tracky dacks through the wash.
Trent Drayton, a 33-year-old warehouse foreman, has decided it’s time his treasured pair of grey Kmart trackies went for a wet spin, after they copped a few splashes of madras curry sauce last night.
Speaking to Trent as he loaded his communal apartment washing machine up with the pants plus some gym socks that were up to their third consecutive wear, it’s been a long time coming given they’ve been a staple of his wardrobe the past few months.
“I’ve really enjoyed these ones, they’ve been my go-to after work pant all winter,” said Trent, as he tried to figure out the best setting for the wash.
“I got them back in April, and I don’t think they’ve had a wash since.”
Given the trackies have seen many nights on the couch this year, the pants appear to be a historical recollection of every meal Trent’s ordered off UberEats this year.
Flaunting curry stains of both the Thai and Indian kind, even Trent admits the wash might be a few weeks too late,
“They’re a bit woofy hey,” said Trent, as he took a sniff of the orange patches of turmeric stains caked onto the knees.
“Better make it a long soak, I don’t think the quick wash will get out the chocolate custard stains.”
