A local sharehouse man, simply trying to cope with the heat and humidity in his aircon-less home by taking cold showers, is worried he may be inching closer to becoming one of those ice bath enthusiasts.
Will Botley (25) initially thought the activity was harmless—an ice-cold shower to cool him down just enough to fall asleep—until now.
What started as the 25-year-old’s solution to high temperatures has spiraled into a personal challenge to see how cold he can actually get the water.
“At first, it was just about falling asleep in a 30-degree room. Then I found myself getting addicted to the feeling—it’s so invigorating,” Will explained.
“Then it dawned on me—am I becoming one of those annoying ice bath guys? Like, I actually kind of get it now.”
Will has kept this realization to himself, but he’s growing increasingly nervous that his housemates might discover his dark secret.
“He seems to have quite a pep in his step when he walks out of the shower. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t suspicious,” said one of Will’s housemates, Nathan (28).
Another housemate, Michael (30), shared his concerns. “The mirror is never foggy when he leaves the shower. What’s going on? I’m worried he might actually be one of those ice bath guys on the low.”
Despite his growing obsession, Will insists he hasn’t crossed the line just yet. “Look, as long as I’m standing up, it’s not technically an ice bath,” he assured.
For now, his housemates are keeping a close eye on him, fearing it’s only a matter of time before the freezer is emptied to fuel his inevitable transformation into a full-fledged ice bath enthusiast.
