A local mother of four has unknowingly had the flashlight on her iPhone turned on for the last six years and showed no signs of realising the mishap.

The beloved outer suburban mother of four, Colleen Walsh (59), has struggled with digital gadgets ever since her youngest daughter moved to a share house in the inner city. She now has to rely on in-person tutorials at the Apple Store in her local mall, which she can never really understand all the way through.

In a shocking revelation by The Advocate, details have emerged that Colleen has somehow had the flashlight on her phone turned on for over six years without anyone telling her.

“I always wondered why people always look at me while I’m on the phone!” Colleen stated.

The realisation has caught Colleen off guard, as she thought she was finally on top of how to proficiently use her iPhone.

Colleen argues that it is actually Apple’s fault for making it too easy to accidentally turn on the flashlight and also for making it so hard to notice that it’s turned on in the first place.

The stunned mother has said that only using her iPhone during working hours and always charging it in the kitchen has meant that the phone hasn’t run out of battery since she got it and that the flashlight is negligible during the day.

Despite the mix-up and the overworked battery, Colleen remains adamant that she won’t be upgrading her phone anytime soon, fearing she’ll have to relearn everything from scratch.

Her children have since promised to keep a closer eye on her tech habits, though they admit they are still baffled as to how no one noticed sooner.
