A Betoota Plains man has been taken into custody, after a liquor related incident in our town’s CBD last night.

Enjoy a somewhat subdued catch up with a mate who was back in town for the week, Derrick White caused a scene when he placed his order at the Hairy Rock pub.

With the pair of mates settling on a nice big drink of stout to warm themselves up on a chilly winter’s evening, Derrick set off across the sticky carpet.

However, once he got up to the watering trough things reportedly started to go sour, with Derrick deciding to order a couple of schooners of Guinness.

Facing a shocked look from the young man behind the bar, Derrick did receive his schooners, but that wasn’t all that landed in front of him.

The appalling behaviour immediately caught the eye of staff at the venue, with a number of regularly bar flies quickly demanding the police be called.

Police arrived shortly after the alleged schooner crime, with Derrick taken in the wagon up to Betoota’s Local Area Command.

Derrick is yet to provided comment but is facing two counts under the Hospitality Etiquette Crimes Act of 1908, for failing to order his Guinness in a pint.

The bar in question has also declined to comment on the issue, citing the fact that the matter is before the courts.

White is due to appear in court on the 21st of June.

More to come.
