A local woman has today been forced to defend her decision to adopt a chihuahua, after her boyfriend complained that the ‘bloody thing seemed scared to be alive.’
Steph Alpine, 25, says she always wanted to own one after watching Legally Blonde as a kid, insisting that ‘Nugget’ is actually quite forthcoming when you get to know him, and that he only pees when you pick him up because ‘he’s a puppy!’
Speaking to The Advocate, Steph says Nugget is really quite friendly but he just needs time to get used to people.
“He’s actually such a character!”, she says, gesturing towards what appears to be a hairy beige potato hiding in the corner, “come here Nugget!”
Our reporter makes the mistake of making eye contact with the pup who responds by violently shaking and pissing itself.
“Awww haha really he’s okay!”, says Steph, whilst attempting to pick up what might be possibly be the most pathetic creature to have ever lived, “he’s just feeling a little bit shy.”
