A local girl has charged through three speed cameras and four red lights this afternoon as she races towards an emergency nail appointment.
The news comes as 32-year-old primary school teacher Shannon Hegarty has picked up some rather obvious clues that she’s about to ‘get a ring on it’, The Advocate can report.
The long suffering girlfriend of one Jakob Kennedy, Shannon has been eagerly awaiting the chance to post a ring on her Instagram since Christmas of 2022.
Now another two years on, and more than nine years total in the crease with her beloved beau, Shannon’s told The Advocate it might finally be happening.
“He asked me a month ago to keep this weekend free, and I’ve been suspicious ever since,” Shannon told our reporter, while juggling driving and watching Instagram reels about trending nail colours for spring.
“Then today he let slip that he’s got us Jetstar flights to Hobart, this has gotta be it, surely!”
Speaking with Shannon’s girl tribe, it’s believed this weekend’s possible proposal has been so eagerly awaited that all her mates have already been pooling money into a separate savings account to brace for the absolute belting their wallets will take when Shannon inevitably asks them to be her bridesmaids.
“About bloody time that coward got his knee dirty, she almost left him at Easter cos he didn’t propose,” one mate Claire Harvey told our reporter.
“I’ve been squirrelling away $50 a month into a high-interest savings account since 2020, and now I’ve got enough to cover the dress and half the hens night.”
“It’s all about being prepared! You need a good spreadsheet if you’re budgeting for bridesmaid duties.”
