Media organisations have agreed to stop reporting more details about Luigi Mangione in fear it will inspire more vigilant action, with even the CEO of Reddit jumping on board to block links to Mangione’s manifesto from being shared on the popular news aggregation forum.
Last Tuesday, the New York Times informed staff that the ‘news value and public service of showing his face is diminishing’ and to dial back on publishing photos and to not release his manifesto.
News Corp organisations, who had no issue with sharing images and details of Bondi Junction mass murderer earlier this year, have followed suit in these requests, opting to return to their usual media reporting format – culture wars and boobs.
The Advocate was able to get a hold of video footage from a News.com newsroom, and has transcribed the following meeting held this morning.
