In breaking social media news, a former high school musical lead has announced that she’s going to have another crack at the big time.

The Advocate can report that at 7:34pm this evening, local wedding celebrant Jayde Adams (29) updated her Facebook profile picture and uploaded a carousel of moody professional headshots to Instagram, as a clear sign she’s on the lookout to star as an extra in an upcoming SBS TV series.

Famous for playing Elphaba in the Betoota Girls Grammar production of ‘Wicked’ way back in 2011, former classmates have said Jayde has been generally quiet on socials, except for a brief run of posts back in 2017 when she announced she’d be appearing on Farmer Wants A Wife.

“Yeah I haven’t heard much from her,” said Justin Murray, a former Betootian who now resides in Brisbane.

“Ran into her pouring beers at the Gold Class Cinema Bar over Christmas a few years back, but I thought she was done with the acting stuff.”

With less than 12 months until she hits her thirties, it’s understood a recent holiday to London has inspired Jayde to give the acting dream one last shot, after attending a run of shows in the West End.

Speaking to The Advocate via Zoom, Jayde told our reporter after seeing five nights of back-to-back theatre she’s found a renewed enthusiasm to create a showreel.

“I’ve got new headshots and I’m speaking to a few agents in the city, I’m pretty keen on moving to Sydney soon, said Jayde.

“I’ve just thrown my profile up on StarNow, I’ve already got a warm lead to be a featured extra in an episode of Home and Away next month.”

“I play an ambulance officer at a car crash, I might even get to tell Ray Meagher to “Step away please, Sir”, I’ve been practicing all week.
