In a never-ending game of social ping pong, Michelle Caulfield has once again sent her best mate Fiona Perez a restaurant they will, in all likelihood, never visit.

“Omg, we need to go!” Michelle exclaimed, sharing a reel of “The Gilded Grape,” a swanky new wine bar in Betoota’s French Quarter,“the anchovies on toast look so good!”

“Gorg, they do orange wine too!” Fiona replied with enthusiasm. “Let’s add it to the list!”

Michelle, responding with a simple heart-eyes emoji, followed up with a link to “No Voy,” an edgy taco joint that’s been blowing up online for its $2 Taco Tuesdays and $12 Spicy Marg specials, “We should totally hit this up after work!” Fiona responded, “Add it to the list!

It remains unclear whether ‘the list’ is a meticulously organised spreadsheet of places Michelle and Fiona intend on visiting or just a social construct.

“Oooh, check this out—a new sandwich deli has opened, we should hit up on the weekend!” Fiona sent another video to Michelle.

But both women know the truth—neither place will ever see the inside of their calendars, much less their busy lives. The reality of their weekend plans more likely involves Netflix and Uber Eats.

“Honestly, it’s the thought that counts,” Michelle mused later that day, as she shared yet another article titled ‘Top Ten Brunch Spots in the French Quarter.’

Fiona, meanwhile, was already scrolling for the next exciting addition to their ever-expanding list.
