In the latest trend to sweep through the world of luxury pet ownership, cat lovers are found to be embracing Ragdolls like dog owners have embraced poodle hybrids, it’s reported.
With the majority of Aussie cat owners still opt for the humble moggy, the Ragdoll is set to be next most popular breed amongst yuppie couples who have disposable income necessary to splash out $2K on a cat – especially amongst folks who’ve always adopted mixed breed cats but feel like treating themselves.
“I’ve always adopted from the RSPCA but I really wanted a rag doll”, says local woman Naomi Raynor, 32, “they’re just so pretty.”
Ragdolls, known for their striking blue eyes, flowing fur, and docile personalities, have become the go-to option for people who want a pet that’s way better looking than them.
“We actually did want a poodle hybrid but just didn’t have the space”, admits Naomi, “plus I didn’t want to take a dog out for a shit five times a day.”
“The bonus of owning a cat is that they come preprogrammed with ‘shitting in a box’ software.”
