Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber has revealed he has called Matt Damon into the lineup this weekend.
28 years after he lifted the World Cup in unison with Nelson Mandela, Damon has returned to the Springboks setup to help his team achieve another famous victory.
If the Springboks can beat the All Blacks this weekend, they will become the greatest World Cup team ever – with both sides currently sitting on 3 wins a piece.
While many pundits believed the result is a flip of a coin, the new face of Matt Damon could tip the scales heavily in the favour of the Braai eaters.
It’s believed Damon had been contacted earlier in the tournament but had been reluctant to bring his 53 year old frame out of retirement.
However, following another reading of a famous poem, Damon said he was ready to answer the call and take down the familiar foe.
“Lekke my bros,” said a noticeably grey Damon.
