French Quarter Student Bethany Brown has today decided to grab the bull by the horns.
The 3rd year law student at our esteemed South Betoota Polytechnic Institute did so by meeting her three upcoming exams head on, and committing to baking an extremely complicated recipe she saw on Instagram.
With her Torts exam just 48 hours away, Bethany made sure to do some last minute cramming – by getting her teeth into a Torte.
However, the Tort she found herself engaged with was not Donoghue v Stevenson, but a delightful Chocolate Truffle Torte.
A translation of the word tart, a torte is a cake made with many eggs and often grated nuts or dry bread crumbs and usually covered with a rich frosting.
Torte’s notably have nothing to do with snails in bottles or people slipping in bananas, which is a notable hallmark of the legal principle of torts, a civil (not criminal) wrong which causes someone injury or suffering.
While reportedly not the worst legal subject to study, Bethany says hit a wall when it comes to physically going through a previous student’s semester’s worth of notes on the subject.
“Ive mopped the floors, re-organised the pantry, cleaned the fridge out and washed all of my sheets and clothes too,” laughed Bethany.
“And the chocolate truffle torte is looking delicious,” explained the local procrastibaker.
“I’m completely fucked for this exam, but at least I feel like I’ve wasted my time doing something useful.”
“I’ll get into after I finish washing the couch pillows anyway.”
