A would-be rebel has struck back against her parents and cancelled her tattoo plans after mum learnt about it and gave her full approval.
Wanting to be the talk of the school without risking a possible pregnancy, teenager Helia Whetlam (17) asked her bestie Rhiannon if her morally grey half-brother Josh was still an apprentice tattooist. The answer was ‘no’ but Josh was free Friday after school if Helia wanted to get the tattoo anyway.
Unfortunately for Helia, her plans were thwarted when her mother Deborah Whetlam (46) slipped and accidentally landed on her daughter’s phone and found the message thread which revealed the plans for the secret tattoo.
“Helia Gwynevere Whetlam, come here at once!” neighbours reported hearing from several houses down.
“Why is that dropkick Josh giving you a tattoo this Friday? If you wanted one we could just pop down to Wicked Ink, Trevor owes me a favour.”
In a surprise turn of events, Deborah thought her underage daughter’s tattoo plans were a great idea as they reminded her of the spontaneity of youth, even if she wasn’t fully on board with the tattoo design.
“That skull is facing the wrong way though you know that right? You want your tattoos to be facing in, towards your heart, it’s kind of day one stuff.”
“Also, the ripping-through-the-skin effect, it’s a little ‘90s. You might as well get a Sublime sunburst or a barbed wire band while you’re there.”
Tragically for young Helia, her mum doubled down and even suggested they get matching ones so they never have to truly be apart.
“Honestly mum, it’s fine, I thought it wasn’t a bad idea anyway, I’m messaging them now to say no, I-I think I want to become a nun or something just leave me alone please!”
MORE TO COME.
