Although most of his customers are happy to sit in the back and chew through their phone battery while listening to smooth FM, Uber driver Sam Dashti (35) has a different agenda for those who choose to ride with him.
Working through an Uber car rental middle-man service, Dashti wants to make it clear that this clean and respectable choice of vehicle is not actually his and that he has something much cooler at home.
“I put a V8 engine in it,” stated Dashti to his customer who has no idea what that means.
“Just got to fix the exhaust, finish the decal and get one of those big hydraulic brake grips that goes up over ya head.”
Satisfied their passenger was ready to learn more about their less-lame vehicle, Dashti deliberately went out of his way to provide new information about his car, including slowing down before a set of lights so he could show them a picture on his phone while stopped.
“And that’s not the original spoiler but I’ve still got the original if I ever wanna pop it back on.”
Having the time of his life, Dashti continued talking about his second car with the vigour of someone who didn’t mind getting a one-star review as soon as his passenger door slammed shut.
“I’ve got an Insta account you can follow it on if you ever wanna see what she’s getting up to?”
