A local woman has expressed her frustration after her much-anticipated online purchase arrived in Australia in record time, only to sit idle in a random warehouse in Betoota Ponds for what feels like an eternity.
Amy Turner, 29, was delighted when she received a notification that her international package had landed in Australia just two days after ordering, figuring that the quick progress gave her hope that she’d have her item in hand within the week. However, her excitement soon turned to annoyance when she discovered that the package would be stuck in an warehouse for two full weeks due to ‘logistical delays.’
“I couldn’t believe how fast it made it to Australia. It was like I blinked, and it was already in the country,” Amy said, “but now it’s been in Betoota Ponds for days, and they’re telling me it’ll be stuck there for another fortnight?? It’s literally a 15-minute drive from my house!”
The delay, according to the delivery company, is attributed to a backlog of parcels combined with what they describe as “scheduled processing times.”
“How does it make sense that something can travel across the world in 48 hours but takes two weeks to cross the last couple of suburbs? It’s not like it’s coming by carrier pigeon!”
More to come.
