A woman who has only just cottoned on the whole brat summer trend has now been forced to do a complete 180, after discovering that apparently being a hot mess is out, and being very demure and mindful is in.
Waking up to her social media newsfeed being blown up with tips on how to be ‘demure’, courtesy of Tik Tok user Jools Lebron, who has achieved viral fame with her tips on how to look ‘demure’ and ‘mindful’ during work and life, Cadence Holloway, 29 says she’s starting to lose track of these rapidly shifting Gen Z subcultures.
“I feel like every week, there’s another female focussed micro trend”, explains Cadence, “a new ‘core’ or ‘aesthetic’ or ‘vibe.’
“It was hot girl summer then boy sober, clean girl aesthetic and then messy girl aesthetic.”
“Trad wives and then mob wives.”
“It’s always two opposing ideologies but just packaged differently.”
“You can either be the traditional, conservative woman who wears a claw clip in her hair and carries around a Stanley cup, or the wild, rule-flouting hedonist who has no qualms with dipping down to the shops braless.”
Cadence says she will no longer be subscribing to this madonna whore complex, and will instead be going her own way by placing herself somewhere in the middle of nice to naughty spectrum – or a a nonchalant winter, if you will.
“And if I change my mind, I’m sure there will be a ‘slutty girl spring’ just around the corner.”
More to come.
