Local millennial Hannah Fisher, 32, has found herself spiralling into an existential crisis today, after witnessing her 14-year-old sister, Chloe, using a skincare regime so convoluted, it took thirty minutes to apply.
Speaking to The Advocate, Hannah reveals she’d stayed over at her mum’s house last night, having finally succumbed to the almost daily requests to have dinner with the family.
It was there she witnessed Chloe roll out a seven step Korean skincare regime, which included double cleansing, exfoliation, essence serum, eye serum, moisturiser, sheet mask and…snail serum?”
“I mean, when I was 12, I thought putting toothpaste on a pimple was advanced skincare,” Hannah said, “I used to set my makeup with hairspray.”
Hannah reveals that she attempted to ask a bit about Chloe’s skincare in a bid to bond with her frosty younger sister, who was all too happy to break down each item and it’s use.
“It was fucking weird, it’s like she went into instant influencer mode. Starts talking about salicylic acid, glycolic, hyaluronic.”
“And just saying the word ‘essence’ a lot.”
Hannah adds that it might have been an alright moment had her sister not peered closely into her eyes, and told her she needs to start retinol ‘yesterday.’
More to come.
