A Betoota Ponds woman has found herself both feeling incredibly envious and slightly resentful towards her boyfriend, for the crime of operating on a daily basis free from a single anxious thought.
As a chronic overthinker who is unable to even book an appointment in the afternoon without feeling paralysed all day, Tara Dawson daily neuroses are perfectly balanced by her anchor boyfriend Mikey, who is equally as baffled by the way her brain works.
In fact, Mikey is so unbothered by everything, he probably wouldn’t even take a brisk walk if his ass was on fire.
The Advocate speaks to the couple to learn more.
“Nothing bothers him”, Tara explains, looking genuinely confused, “I’ve never seen him stress about anything. Like he has no problem telling his boss what he thinks?”
“How does he just cruise through life like that?”
“Meanwhile I’m only 27, and the eleven lines between my brows have already set in.”
Chatting to Mikey, our reporter learns that he is equally as confused as to why Tara stresses about things she has absolutely no control over.
“Yeah dunno, I just tell her there’s no point worrying about stuff so much. Seems like a lot of wasted energy worrying about things that don’;t even happen 99% of the time.”
“And if shit does happen, what can you do?”
Though it might seem like an odd pairing, the dynamic works for the couple whenever Tara needs talking down from the ledge, or when Mikey is being a bit too relaxed about something.
“Yeah he wouldn’t never step foot in the doctor’s office if it weren’t for me”, laughs Tara, “so it balances out.”
“I love having an anchor boyfriend.”
More to come.
