Local woman Sophie Patel has left her friends questioning their own skincare and makeup routines after unveiling what she described as her ‘no makeup’ look—which, ironically, involves more products than her regular makeup routine.
“I just want to look natural, you know?” Sophie explained, casually applying her 14th product of the morning—a “blemish-perfecting primer” that promised a ‘lit-from-within glow.’ “The key is to look like you’re not trying, even though I’m definitely trying.”
Sophie’s “effortless” look includes a meticulous regimen of serums, oils, tinted moisturisers, colour-correcting creams, and a setting mist claiming to lock in hydration for 72 hours.
“I don’t wear foundation,” she clarified, “I just use a lightweight CC cream with SPF 50, then a light layer of concealer, a touch of cream contour, bronzer, blush, highlighter, brightening powder for under the eyes, and—” she paused, finishing with a sweep of translucent powder to ‘set it all in.’
While most of Sophie’s friends are lucky if they remember to brush their eyebrows, Sophie insists that her look is all about subtlety. “It’s important to look like you’re not wearing makeup, but still have a flawless glow,” she said, applying her favourite ‘my lips but better combo’ which involves a lip liner, tinted lip balm and gloss.
“Less is more” Sophie claimed, blissfully unaware of the mountain of beauty products that lay on her bathroom sink.
