Australian batsman David Warner has provided cricket fans with a lovely moment overnight, after being spotted indulging in an interesting part time.

The fiery opener was pictured enjoying some crosswords during the tail of Australia’s first innings, something not expected of professional cricketers.

Warner’s quick literacy tests came as the veteran took a break from watching cardoons on his Oled TV.

For those who aren’t fans of the game or don’t have free to air TV, The Matraville Mauler famously informed the nation millions of times that he loves watching cardoons on his LG Oled TV – due the incredible colour displays and clarity.

Seared into the brains of countless Australians, Warner became synonymous with cardoon watching – a past time that most Australians also hold fondly in their hearts.

It’s unknown if Warner will now front an advertising campaign for news agents of publishers of crosswords, but all eyes will remain on Australia’s most notable cricketers for the remaining few days of the Second Ashes Test – which the English have already won because they play the best style of cricket and results don’t actually matter if you philosophically are superior to the dumb brutes you play against OKAY!

More to come.
