Rugby League presenter and journalist Erin Molan has confirmed today that she’s got some exciting new plans in the works.
Following the rumoured fallout with Andrew Johns, the Channel 9 personality has faced another uptick in online trolling from blokes with motor vehicles and flags as profile pictures – and as a result, she’s set to commit to a new plan to win them over.
In an effort to win over the die-hard former footy show fans who just wanna see players getting waxed like it’s the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Molan is going to try and rapidly develop CTE.
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated head injuries and is common in players who have had careers in contact sport.
Despite the debilitating effects of CTE, Molan said she is committed to contracting the disease so she can bumble around before and after games and sporadically burst into laughter at the drop of a hat.
“I think we’ll just leave it to James Bracey now to look after everything and make sure a crew of ex-rugby league players with years of concussions somehow function as a presenting panel for a few hours every weekend,” Molan told The Advocate.
“It’s a bit late for me to play an NRL game and earn credit as a presenter that way, so that’s why I’m hoping developing CTE makes me a great presenter in the eyes of die-hard rugby league fans.”
Molan then explained that she is still working on just how she will develop the disease, but will keep fans updated.
