A 23 test veteran for the Wallabies who is gainfully employed by Rugby Australia has today revealed the root cause of the games systematic and entrenched issues.
Speaking to The Advocate from the Royal Sydney Golf Club today, Justin Davies explained that the array of issues with the rapidly declining game can all be pinned on one man, Michael Cheika.
The rampaging centre from the late 80’s who has been on a pretty handy salary at Rugby Australia for quite some time says that the letting go of the coach should resolve most of the issues.
“We shouldn’t be focusing on the organisation that has allowed to game to slowly slide to wither away to the point where no one really cares any more,” he said.
“The appaling state of grassroots footy, the fact the game is not accessible to people who don’t have Foxtel, the lack of narratives and marketing around the game and the standard of our national competitions is entirely Michael Cheika’s fault.”
“So I think, rather than looking inwards and re-structuring and re-vitalising this organisation that may seem completely incompetent to the general population, you guys trust me in my claims that Cheika walking out the door will solve the whole problem.”
“We’ll just whack on some more Classic Wallabies games get a new coach we’ll fire in 12 months and maintain the business as usual approach,” he said as he sliced a drive of the tee.
“Fuck,” he sighed.
“If you don’t mind I might get back to it,” he said walking off.
