As the slapstick YouTuber Logan Paul enters the ring to fight boxing great, Floyd Mayweather, in a Miami exhibition event – both America and other great boxing nation’s are today mourning the loss of their once proud sport.
After a career that has seen not one professional loss, Floyd Mayweather is arguably the most genius boxer of all time, even if he did spend his entire career avoiding a fight with Kostya Tszyu.
The fight is currently taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with Mayweather entering the ring wearing an OnlyFans sponsored cap.
The undercard started at 10:00am AEST, with Badou Jack vs Dervin Colina at light heavyweight undercard — an actual fight involving two actual boxers that has been sanctioned by the appropriate bodies.
Former NFL star Chad Ochocinco — also made his boxing debut on the undercard against Brian Maxwell over four rounds.
Formerly known as Chad Johnson, Ochocinco played wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots over 11 seasons in the NFL, a career so successful that he changed is last name to the Spanish translation of his player number.
However, Chad Ochocinco isn’t even the most eccentric inclusion in this ludicrous fight night.
That title goes to the 26-year-old Logan Paul, a YouTube star with over 20 million followers, who has recently decided to take up a career in boxing, an element to leverage his mostly teenage audience into ponying up the pay-per-view fee for the untimely death of American boxing.
Heartbreaking tributes have flown today, as millions of American and international boxing fans witness the passing of their beloved sport, which has been murdered by goofy social media celebrities being paid more than any professional fighter in their weight could ever dream in their entire career.
“Rest in peace boxing” tweeted Sugar Ray Leonard, as he watched his predecessor Mayweather duck big swing uppercuts from a man 40 pounds heavier than him.
“Gone too soon”
