In a relatively quiet off-season by NRL standards, social media has today been buzzing with new off-field drama.
Photos leaked by unknown sources have show that Roosters enforcer Angus Crichton has reportedly taken a job selling audio equipment and televisions at JB Hi-Fi over the summer.
The photos, which show the 24-year-old rocking a Nu-Metal era goatee with obvious aspirations for a ponytail, have been widely panned by his Eastern Suburbs fanbase – who want him to go back to his Waratahs prodigy sweep fringe.
JB Hi-Fi is well known for it’s penchant for employing wallet-chain type rockdogs – and is considered the last resort for the type of blokes who would have worked in comic book stores in the 1990s.
Close friend and rugby league confidantè Victor Radley says that Crichton’s part time job a JB first became apparent to his team mates when he started trying to upsell them on insurance for their home cinemas.
It is believed that the Roosters owner, Nick Politis is aware of the second-rower’s newfound passion for audio quality and Jim Carey movies.
He has given him until round one to stop working at JB Hi-Fi or else he will have his Bondi Beach Road privileges revoked for the duration of the season.
It is not yet known if Crichton will be visiting his local tattoo and piercing parlour to go the full JB-Hi-Fi with a pair of spacer earrings, but Radley says he has really taken a liking to Limp Bizkit and Pantera ever since he debuted the 5 inches of dense fluff at the end of his chin.
MORE TO COME.
