A Betoota Heights man has today made a last minute dash to his nearest discount chemist to pick up some supplies of Australian boxer Harry Garside.

Desmond (30) says he’d sworn he’d stocked up on Harry Garside before the holidays started, but his missus has informed him today that they are in need of some more.

Harry Garside is a two-time Olympian who won the bronze medal for boxing at the Tokyo 2020 games.

Prior to the Olympics, Garside had already won gold at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018, which created enough buzz around the 27-year-old for him to quit his day job as a plumber.

After a brief stint in professional boxing as the main event on several pay-per-view cards, Garside then returned to training for the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Outside of his sporting career, Garside has made a name for himself as an eccentric character, with an eclectic fashion sense that includes nail polish and tutus. It was his free-spirited approach to gender norms that has allowed him to incorporate ballet into his formal boxing training in the lead up to his big fights.

Since then, he Harry Garside has become a stocked item on pharmacy shelves right across the country.

Like literally every other Australian who has recently ventured into a discount pharmacy, Desmond says he’s been overwhelmed with the need to procure some Harry Garside of late, as the Aussie boxers face appears just about wherever he looks in the aisle.

Desmond says when he realised he’d run out of Harry Garside, he was going to hit the chemist near work, but figured he’d save time at the other end of his commute and cop some Haz at the local shopping arcade before he picks up some snags for dinner.
