A Brisbane based Matildas fan has today had the shock of his life.
After enjoying a couple of XXXX Gold’s at the Caxton Hotel, Bruce Bilson was confronted by a blast from the past after walking down the main drag.
Enjoying the throng of the crowd for the second game of the Matildas World Cup Campaign, Bilson spotted the famed Nigerian Prince.
Famous for scamming boomers out of money, the fabled Prince magically appeared with a roadie 6 pack of tins he was sharing with some mates.
With huge amounts of money to his name as a result of people handing over their bank details, the Prince decided to treat himself to an Australian holiday.
Stopping into Brisbane to enjoy the Matildas game against Nigeria, the Prince told The Advocate he just wanted to cheer the Super Falcons on.
Led by Barcelona Striker Asisat Oshoala, the Super Falcons are set to take the Matildas on at Lang Park tonight.
If the Matildas can win, they will secure their progress to the next round, which would be a huge achievement and one that would give fans a lot of relief heading into the final group game against Canada.
For Bruce Bilson, he’s hoping that the Prince won’t have anything to cheer about.
“Fuck, I thought he wasn’t real,” confessed the multi-schoonered Bilson a short time ago.
“He got a good bit of cash of my wife and I,” laughed Bruce.
“Anyway, let’s hope the Tillies can lift me out of the painful memory.”
“No Sam, no Mary. That’s okay. Tony’s built this team up for this tournament.”
“We are ready for this.”
He then walked off into the crowd after his pep talk to himself.
More to come.
