In some exciting news for the nation, the National Basketball League has today revealed that they will be playing games on Christmas Day!
Giving in to the request that everyone has been hanging out for, the NBL has expanded its schedule to include games on Christmas.
Continuing on in their quest to dominate Australia’s sporting landscape, the NBL is apparently keen to cash in on the lucrative sports free day in the Australian calendar.
With Boxing Day arguably the biggest in the nation’s sporting year, Australian basketballers are keen to cash in on blokes who need a bit of time out from the in-laws.
However, understandably the players who make up the NBL have raised concerns about playing on Christmas Day rather than spending time with their families.
But, thankfully the league has sweetened the deal by offering every player a $20 JB Hi-Fi voucher.
“I don’t think they’ll be turning that down,” laughed the head of the organisation this morning.
“A nice little bonus for them.”
“It’s a historic moment for the sport and the nation.”
It’s believed the umpires will also be laying out mini tramps under the ring to make sure the nation sees some slam dunks.
“Good luck turning that off,” laughed the NBL’s boss.
More to come.
