The National Rugby League has today spat in the face of Queensland and opted to continue hosting the Grand Final in the worst stadium in the world.
Turning its nose up at the spiritual home of Rugby League, the NRL has decided to keep the biggest game of the year at Stadium Australia.
The decision comes after a week-long tug of war between Queensland and NSW, with the Sunshine State dangling a 10 million dollar carrot in an attempt to entice the NRL.
However, the game’s boss Peter V’Landys has made peace with his counterparts in the world’s largest open-air sewer and awarded the shitty the Grand Final.
This means the huge occasion will be hosted at Stadium Australia, widely recognised as the worst stadium of its size in the history of humankind.
Famous for its appalling parking, disgraceful cattle truck trains, overpriced beers, and inadequate facilities the stadium has been regarded as the worst of it’s kind for the better part of 20 years.
While having the game at a glorious Lang Park, just a few Matt Burton torpedoes away from the Brown Snake and the CBD was floated as the perfect out for the NRL, it’s believed the old-school way of doing things in Sydney got them over the line.
No more to come.
