Boyish, Rugged and Pensive. Those are the three words used to describe the sexiest trio in State Of Origin football.

Newcastle Knights skipper Kalyn Ponga has been called up to join the Maroons side for the Game III decider at Suncorp Stadium next week.

His inclusion in the Queensland team will mark the first time he has played alongside Reece Walsh, a prospect that strikes fear into the hearts of New South Wales who are now up against not one but two of the best fullbacks in the modern game.

It also marks another momentous occasion in Queensland football history, as Billy Slater fields the best looking team in the history of not only the state, but rugby league in general.

As well as Walsh, Ponga now joins another one of the NRL’s foremost sex icons, Roosters prop Lindsay Collins.

This vortex of differing but irretuble handsomeness has attracted attention from media outlets well outside of the usual sports journalism arena.

Since the team was announced on Sunday night, all three men have been requested for photoshoots from the likes of Vogue, GQ and Playboy – as editors beg the Queensland Rugby League for the opportunity to have these dishy little footy hunks on front pages across the world.

While Walsh brings the boyish good looks, and Ponga brings the pensive stick-poke hipster flair, the entire combination would be nothing without the mouth-watering ruggedness of North Brisbane’s sexiest NRL export since the redheaded casanovas of Fatty Vautin and Dylan Napa.

The nation’s football-agnostic girlfriends and gays are expected to be tuning in with open eyes and dropped jaws as these three hunks take the field next Wednesday night. In what is expected to be the biggest female audience for a sporting event since 11.5 million Australians tuned in for Matildas v England World Cup semi-final last year.
