Mark Zuckerberg’s is no longer the unfashionable nerd that was portrayed in the 2010 Hollywood biopic ‘The Social Network’.

A string of recent public appearances and interviews, The Facebook owner has been seen sporting a more stylish look – including designer sportswear, a $95k De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius wristwatch, and a gold chain.

On top of this, it seems that there has also been a shift in Zuckerberg’s politics, with the 40-year-old now far less interested in the bleeding heart Silicon Valley liberalism that once defined tech CEOs like him.

Meta, the billion dollar social media platform owned and run by Zuckerberg, has announced it will now be removing all ‘political bias’ from their fact-checking processes – and will no longer be prioritising the in-house social justice models that political pundits have long decried as ‘woke’.

This new persona has both tech and political class buzzing with theories about whether Zuckerberg is enduring a midlife crisis, or is in fact rolling out a calculated rebrand.

However, Australians on the South Coast of New South Wales know exactly what is going on.

Zuckerberg’s new sense of style and unflinching brashness, can simply be explained by the amount of time he has spent hanging out with Wollongong UFC star, Alexander Volkanovski.

First appearing in Volkanovski’s corner at UFC 298, and subsequently training alongside him in private MMA sessions, it seems that Zuck and Volk are now boys.

The tech billionaire now refuses to waste money on anything except flashy jewellery and flights to sporting events, much like the Macedonian concreters that carry their tools in green Woolies shopping bags but can still clear a week of the year to attend NRL Vegas round.

Zuckerberg’s sudden lack of interest in political correctness and his new penchant for extremely long-form podcasts also speaks to the culturally influence that could have only been imparted upon him by the sons of Wollongong’s steel workers.

While Zuckerberg still maintains a love for ‘smoked meats’ – he’s no longer cooking up the same hideous meals he once debuted on Facebook Live – and instead is subscribing to the ethnic flair showcased by Volkanovski in his wildly popular ‘Cooking With Volk’ YouTube series.
